Over at Sirota's place (http://www.davidsirota.com/2005/06/energy-bill-only-enron-could-love.html), I just saw that the energy bill passed the Senate yesterday.
Seven Democrats voted against it.
Seven.
So, OK. I haven't done due diligence and looked up the facts about the bill. Too busy and too depressed.
But please. A Bush energy bill and only 7 Dems opposed it?
Seven?
Guess who voted for it?
Barak Obama. Yep, the young turk, new breed, future of the party Barak ... voted for Enron.
Tell me, is this party worth trying to save?
What if we just get the Move On/grass-net roots people together and wander off and start our own party?
What does the Dem Party really consist of, anyway? Apart from the grass-net roots, what do they have left?
It's beginning to gall me that, to oppose the Thugs, I have to support people who routinely surender to the corporate pirates.
